Standard Centre Printing

Included in the price of our Standard and Premium rosettes is to have the centres printed using our standard template; this usually takes the form of text printed along the top edge or top and bottom edges with an award or motif printed in the middle.

Our metallic foil centres are printed using the traditional hot foil technique; this involves heating a metal die that holds type and/or etched metal images, the heat bonds the foil to the centres and thus transfers the design held by the die.

The maximum number of characters that can be arranged around the edge of the die is approximately 36 (including spaces).

Foil Colours

Unless requested otherwise centres are printed using metallic gold foil but silver, rose gold, black, red, blue, green and pink/purple foils are also available.

Matching foils can be used on our metallic gold, silver and bronze coloured centres for a more subtle effect but for a clear print we suggest using black foil.

Motifs & Awards

We have a number of “stock motifs” that can be printed in the middle of our standard template at no extra charge. We have a motif to suit most events or occasions but if you can’t find one to suit your needs then please let us know as we’re always happy to add to our range. If you have a specific image in mind that you’d like to use exclusively on your items then please see the section below on Incorporating Your Own Logo or Design.

Awards that can be printed include placings (ordinal numbers) that can be written numerically ( 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd etc.) or as text (First, Second, Third etc.), titles such as Champion, Best in Show, Reserve etc. and other commonly used text such as Special, Well Done and Clear Round.

Incorporating Your Own Logo or Design

If you'd like to have your rosette centres printed in a different format to our standard template or if you'd like to have your own logo printed then a new metal plate (a Personal Printing Plate) will be required.

What does this price cover?

Since your image cannot be transferred to a printing plate on site the fee pays for it to be sent away to a specialist company so that a re-useable metal die can be made. For this reason we request a minimum period of 14 days after the approval of artwork for the production of items incorporating the design.

This is a one-off fee – we can use the plate to print an infinite number of centres so therefore if you wish to incorporate the same artwork into future orders there is no extra to pay.

Accolade Rosettes will retain this plate; however we do not use it under any circumstances to print items other than those for you or your organisation.

The price stated above is the price for a plate used to print rosette centre boards; complex plates may cost more.

What do you need to do?

You need to supply us with a monochrome (black and white – no grey) image of your design. This is because it will be used to create a print and therefore midtones cannot be produced. If your design does include midtones or gradients and you are unsure how to modify it then we will do our best to simplify it for you.

Our preferred method for receiving these images is electronically by email.

You also need to tell us where on the product the design is to be used so that we know what size plate to request.

  It is your responsibility to obtain copyright permission to use any designs/logos not belonging to you or your club or organisation, Accolade Rosettes accept no responsibility for breach of copyright.

Accolade Rosettes cannot accept responsibility for how effectively a design will print although we will tell you if we expect your design to be unsuitable.
As a rule clear, well defined images work best.

Full Colour Centres

If you’d like to have your rosette centres printed digitally in full colour, please contact us for further information and prices.

  Only our 5cm centres can be printed using this method.

Unlike centres we print ribbon digitally which allows more flexibility in the style and size of the text and also allows the inclusion of motifs without the need for a Personal Printing Plate.

Unless requested otherwise tails are printed using metallic gold foil but metallic silver and rose gold are also available.

The charges applied are as follows:

Text

The size of the text can be altered according to the length of the tails but we advise a maximum of 2 lines of text to be printed on a 2.5cm wide tail and up to 3 lines on a 3.7cm wide tail.

We’re able to print almost any font so if you have a particular font in mind, for example to match your own logo/branding then please let us know.

Images

We have a number of stock images suitable for tail printing but if you’d like your own image or logo applied then this can be done at no extra charge (other than the regular price of tail printing). The same principles apply as for centre printing; we will need a monochrome image and it is your responsibility to obtain copyright permission to use any designs/logos not belonging to you or your club or organisation.

Patterns

Image repeats can also be printed on tails, examples include stars, paw prints, polka dots, stripes and crackle effect. Please contact us it this is something you’re interested in.
